THE BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL

THE BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL

Do you ever look back on your life and see the forces of Satan and evil at work in your life, and also the work of God and good? More and more I look back and see such battles. Sometimes, it is not so obvious at the time you are living it, but later you look back and can see. I believe often we can look back and see it. Sometimes we see it as we experience such. I wonder how many times the forces of darkness have been at work in my life but God overruled such and saved me. Great is the power of our God over every foe.

We live in scientific America and we have a way of explaining everything away with science. Many have lost touch with the great spiritual battles that are waged every day in our life. Often, I think many live a grand delusion. Notice what Paul said about being blinded, "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." (2 Cor. 4:4).

Jesus even talked of his close disciples and their own minds blinded to reality.

"Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don't you remember?" (Mark 8:18)

Paul also warned, "in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes." (2 Cor. 2:11). Satan has schemes and plans for us all. They surround us daily. We must be aware.

" Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (I Pet. 5:8).

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph. 6:12).

Obey the gospel, live a faithful Christian life, fill your heart and life with prayer and Bible study and give yourself completely to God. Only by such commitment can we overcome the evil one.

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." (James 4:7).
