Mysteries of the Bible (13)

The glorious mysteries of the Bible.  Amazing!   Thrills the soul.  What if I could predict the future?   What if were to talk of nations being absolutely destroyed in the future and it came to pass?   What if I told of new nations that no one had ever heard about and it all came to pass?   What if I told of people being born in the future and gave their names and told what they would do?

People who believe in Astrology believe they can predict the future by studying the movements of the stars.  I have seen no evidence that such claims have any merit.  Others today, claim to be psychics and thus can tell the future.   Again, I have seen no evidence that such anything of the future.   They make very broad, general assumptions that is more a mind game than reality.

I am talking about really telling the future.   Seeing events not only in the short term but long into the future.   Some that is so clean and amazing that it is nothing, short of amazing.   Clouded in mystery and yet very real.  Bible prophecies prove the inspiration of the Bible.   Bible prophecies show that the Bible is no ordinary book but is indeed the glorious, mysterious, and very real, WORD OF GOD.

In our previous installments we set forth the argument for the inspiration and the glorious mystery of the Bible.   Here it is again:

If the Bible fully claims to be the book of God, exhibits complete and total historical accuracy from Genesis to Revelation, and if, it exhibits total scientific accuracy, (that is, when it speaks of anything related to Science, it always speaks in total accuracy),  is free of all errors and mistakes of any form, possess  a remarkable unity, has a world view that is true and unique to the age of the writings (Bible), contains within its pages predictions about the future that would be impossible for humans to know and that had clear and precise fulfillments (predictive prophecy), has a presentation of reality in life that is unique, true, and unknown to the times in which the books were written, and has other demonstrations that prove it is a book of divine (supernatural) origins, then it is indeed, THE WORD OF GOD.

The Bible does exhibit claims to be the  book of God, exhibits complete and total historical accuracy from Genesis to Revelation, it exhibits total scientific accuracy, (that is, when it speaks of anything related to Science, it always speaks in total accuracy),  is free of all errors and mistakes of any form, possess  a remarkable unity, has a world view that is true and unique to the age of the writings (Bible), contains within its pages,  predictions about the future that would be impossible for humans to know and that had clear and precise fulfillments  (predictive prophecy), has a presentation of reality in life that is unique, true, and unknown to the times in which the books were written, and has other demonstrations that prove it is a book of divine (supernatural) origins.

Therefore, the Holy Bible is most certainly, the Word of God!

Here are some examples of Bible prophecy, clouded in mystery, but that proves that the Bible is of God.   No ordinary man could on his own know the future and know it so precisely.   The 40 writers of the Bible often talked of future events with ease, giving prices predictions that all came to absolute fulfillment.   The only way they could know such is if a power far greater than themselves who knows all things, gave them the information.   That power was Almighty God.

Tyre:  Ezekiel the great prophet of God foretold the absolute destruction of Tyre (Ezek. 26:3-5, 14)  This all came about as Ezekiel declared it would.   To the exact detail.  Nebuchadnezzar led the attacked and utterly destroyed the great city of ancient days.  Alexander the Great finished it off in the early 4th century B.C.  The city today is in ruines, dirt.   No one has ever again attempted to rebuild it.   It was completely destroyed and remains destroyed as Ezekiel declared.

Nineveh: is the great city of Assyria.  It was once a glorious city of money, power, and pleasure.   The prophets  Nahum and Zephaniah were sent by God and foretold the future and the catastrophe that  awaited them.   In 612 B.C. the mighty armies of Babylon and the Medes and wiped them out.

Next, let us look at the Jews.  All through the Bible the Jews stand as a mystery to the world.   Their seemingly indestructibility.   They survived all through Bible history and even through the ravages of secular history.  The prophets told of how the Jews would be sent all over the world in future generations (Ezek. 22:15; Jer. 9:16).   Today, indeed Jews are all over the earth.   Look at all the Jews in America today.   America was unknown to previous generations.  Also, the prophet declared that the Jews would be more or less a disgrace in all nations they would be found (Jer. 24:9).     That means trouble, prejudice, a joke, and ridicule.  We all know too well the history of such shame.

Prophecies about Jesus Christ:  These are amazing.   Great prophets that lived over 800 years before Christ predicted over 333 different and precise  prophecies  or predictions about Jesus.   All came to fulfillment with crystal clarity.   His birth (Michah. 5:2), the Virgin birth (Isa. 7:14), the work of John the Baptist, (Mal. 3:1).   On and on we could go.   His entire life mapped out 800 plus years before He was born.   All fulfilled completely.

There is no way that mere mortals could know the future with such exact details   Today, we know the predictions the prophets made and we know the history that fulfilled them.   It is a miracle, it is of God, and it is a mystery of history that confounds all who see!

God is amazing!   He is glorious.   He is God!
